Ski News Submitted by our membership Click on the link below for the details: Jackson Hole | August 14, 2006 Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) officials announced today their intention to enhance the legacy created over the last 40 years by committing to build a new 100 passenger, state of the art aerial tramway from the base in Teton Village to the summit of Rendezvous Mountain, a vertical rise of 4,139'. This lift will have the longest continual vertical rise of any ski lift in North America. It will replace the existing smaller aerial tram that will cease to operate October 1, 2006. Snowbird | August 14, 2006 Media are invited to witness the punch-through and be one of the first to walk through Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort’s new tunnel connecting Peruvian Gulch to Mineral Basin Wednesday, Aug. 16. Work began on the first ski area tunnel in North America Aug. 17, 2005, and Aug. 16, 2006, will mark the first time light will be seen at both ends of the nearly 600-foot tunnel. Telluride | July 24, 2006 The Telluride Montrose Regional Air Organization (TMRAO) announced today America West/USAir will renew winter service with two daily non-stop flights between Phoenix and Telluride Regional Airport beginning December 15, 2006. This service will run through March 31, 2007. A 37 passenger Dash 8 aircraft will operate the service.
