  • Welcome To SkiTops Network 2008 -

And The “New” Crested Butte …

Today’s skiers are fortunate indeed. For while there are not many new ski mountains being designed these days, there is a genuine renaissance of re-development at many of the great ski resorts all across North America. And nowhere is this more evident than in venerable Crested Butte, Colorado.

    Crested Butte - Network 2008

    Crested Butte - Network 2008

    Crested Butte - Network 2008
Most of you will recall, Crested Butte was purchased several years ago by Tim and Diane Mueller, the well respected operators of Okemo Mountain Resort in Vermont and Mount Sunapee in New Hampshire. The Mueller’s have long recognized the untapped potential of Crested Butte, and early on in the acquisition process they committed over $150 million toward extensive on mountain improvements as well as base area renovation and redevelopment. SkiTops Members will see much of this work, now largely completed, when we arrive in late March for our annual Network convention. A few examples of ski resort renaissance, Crested Butte style, include …

    • A spectacular new base village, Mountaineer Square, which includes the beautiful Lodge at Mountaineer Square.
    • An entirely new state-of-the-art 9,000 square foot Conference Center at Mountaineer Square.
    • A complete renovation of the former Club Med, now the upscale Elevation Hotel.
    • Greatly expanded high tech snowmaking and grooming capabilities.
    • Several new strategically located high speed quad lifts.
    • A new Super-Pipe and several new Terrain parks built and sponsored by DC Shoes.
    • New kids terrain parks and tubing hills.
    • Two new on mountain restaurants.
All these improvements to the skiing and resort facilities would be reason enough for SkiTops to visit Crested Butte. But there is more to experience at this ski resort – notably the nearby Crested Butte National Historic District, a Colorado treasure in itself.

Add to all this, the friendly, unassuming style of the locals and the ever present grandeur of the surrounding peaks – and you have the setting for one of the most exciting and scenic venues SkiTops Network has ever enjoyed.

What a perfect location for this, the annual end of winter gathering of Ski Tour Operators and our preferred Suppliers. No doubt about it, if you are in the business of selling skiing, this is one of your “must attend” meetings this year.

Ready to sign up? Good idea, as SkiTops Networks sells out quickly every year. Here then is how you register for SkiTops Network 2008 at Crested Butte, Colorado.

    Sponsorship Opportunities:

One of the truly unique aspects of SkiTops events has been the overwhelming support of our Supplier Members in actually becoming Official Sponsors for the Network each year. Past Sponsors tell us they see great value in this contribution to our Association, as SkiTops Sponsorship provides high focus and recognition for their company, before, during and after the event.

Some of the benefits of Sponsorship include …

Only the SkiTops Sponsors and the Tour Operators attend the prestigious Sponsors Reception held on the opening night of the Network. Become a Sponsor and you will have the Tour Operators attention all evening long.

Only the Sponsors receive recognition in all the Official SkiTops web publications – and this recognition continues on for six months after the event.

Only the Sponsors are provided the opportunity to display their “pop up” display and/or banner throughout the entire event.

Only the Sponsors above the $1,500 level are offered an official Business table / Booth location near the actual Network convention. This table / booth space may be used to conduct commerce with both the Tour Operators and the Supplier attendees. We find this offer is particularly well suited for technology firms and also travel insurance companies.

That’s a lot of bang for the buck. Indeed several repeat Sponsors have told us SkiTops is the Best Value for their Sponsorship money anywhere! Many of our Sponsors have been supporting the Network for over 10 years now. We are most appreciative of their ongoing contribution – as this support helps makes SkiTops Network possible.

    Sponsorship Levels:

Breakouts: There are 4 sessions to SkiTops Network. Each session SkiTops provided a full beverage service, and hence there are 4 Breakout sponsorship shares. This is the most affordable SkiTops Sponsorship, offered at $1,000 per share.

Tour Operator Breakfast: This is always one of the most sought after Sponsorships - and for good reason. Select this sponsorship and you will enjoy a private breakfast with the Tour Operators, right up until the actual business meeting begins. You will have a brief opportunity to address the group as well. There are just three of these breakfast sponsorships available, offered at $1,250 each.

Lunch Sponsorships: SkiTops sponsors two lavish lunches, on Thursday and again on Friday. For each lunch there are but two sponsorship shares available, offered at $1,500 each. Enjoy lunch with the President on the day you select to sponsor lunch, and have an opportunity to address the entire group from the podium. This is a really effective means of promoting your company to this unique group of buyers.

Cocktail Reception Sponsorship, Thursday Evening: Looking for an evening event to Sponsor? There are just two opportunities, each with but two shares, each offered at $1,500. The cocktail reception is the first evening event where everyone will be in attendance. It’s a fun night, typically with live music, an outstanding display of hors d’oeuvres, and open bar. This is a high quality event a perfect showcase for your company. This sponsorship level entitles your company to a ‘business booth’, with draped table and chairs, in the Pre Function area of the Mountaineer Conference Center for the entire length of the convention.

The Grand Finale Gala Dinner Dance: This is it, the most prestigious sponsorship underwriting the most lavish event of SkiTops Network / Crested Butte. This evening features the best of everything, including an outstanding sit down dinner, an open bar, and a great band. Best of all, it’s your company in lights all night. There is but one Sponsor associated with this gala evening, and for a $2,000 promotional investment, that company can be yours! Naturally this sponsorship level also entitles your company to a ‘business booth’, with draped table and chairs, in the Pre Function area of the Mountaineer Conference Center for the entire length of the convention.
